Barbara Jean Leasure

Barbara Jean Leasure, 75, of Elizabeth, West Virginia, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 6, 2026, at the home of her nephew in Pennsboro, surrounded by the love of family. She was born on August 11, 1950, in West Union, WV, a beloved daughter of the late Edward and Marie Jenkins Leasure.

Barbara lived a quiet, simple life devoted to home and family. A true homemaker at heart, she found joy in life’s everyday comforts—settling in to watch her favorite soap operas and Gunsmoke, sharing laughter over a deck of cards, and especially enjoying spirited games of “War.” These small moments were where Barbara felt most at peace, and they are the memories her family will forever treasure.

She is survived by her brother, Roy Leasure of Elizabeth, WV, along with several nieces and nephews who loved her dearly and will remember her gentle presence, kind heart, and the warmth she brought into their lives.

In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her brothers Howard, Roger, Bill, and Gary “Larry” Leasure, and her sister Connie Cowen. She now reunites with them in eternal rest.

Private interment will be held at Freeman Cemetery in West Union. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Barbara’s Care Fund through her memorial page. Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.davisfuneralhomewestunionwv.com.
